Sienna likes to wake up at about 6:30am. Not with crying or screaming, but with a quiet laugh which we can hear from her bedroom.
Then one of us goes to pick her up, and her ‘Nigh Nigh’, the fluffy pink blanket she loves. We bring her back to the bedroom for a little while before breakfast.
This morning we played some music. Some Katy Perry to hear Sienna roar, Pharrell Williams to get Sienna clapping. She likes to grab our hands and clap them together, along with her own. And today I played some Angels too (vale Doc).
She started making breakfast noises, so we took her downstairs. Carried, this time. She usually insists on being walked down the stairs, or trying herself, which is not stress-free for us. She had a little breakfast. Sienna usually eats quite a bit, and is very particular about trying everything that anyone else is eating.
While waiting for Page “not a morning person” Alina, Alex walked Sienna around the kitchen. Then she walked over towards me, in the lounge. Very subtly, Alex removed her hands without Sienna noticing and she took her first steps. As soon as she realised that she was walking on her own, she dropped to the floor and crawled to me. Sienna can stand-up and walk by herself, she feels very steady when we walk her, but she doesn’t seem to want to. We are not sure if it’s a confidence thing. We’re just hoping that now she has been caught in the act she’ll start walking herself. Or are we…
