Our Sundance Baby

Saturday, January 22nd, 2011

We made it to Sundance. Brendan is being Super Dad (and sporting a scarf) while I am off most of the day in screenings and panels. I am with the other members of PAIFF meeting up with prospective panelists, filmmakers, etc. We had a huge day yesterday where we just got word that three time Academy Winner Walter Murch (editor for The Godfather, Apocalypse Now, English Patient…) will be working with PAIFF on panel and workshop ideas (and possibly a film). He is the caliber of guest that we have been aspiring for. Next, Coppola and Lucas! I’ll send a big update soon on how PAIFF has been taking off…

Tonight our dear friends are watching Page while we head off to a screening. The movie is called Like Crazy, a love story about an English girl and an American boy. I swear Pagie will look just like the actress Jennifer Lawrence (also the lead in Winter’s Bone) when she gets older.

Last Night in CO

Saturday, January 22nd, 2011

We had a lovely last night in Durango with some close friends. Page soaked up the attention from the kids and even got to go pillow and basket surfing. She LOVES being around people. We left early Friday for our trip across Utah to get to Sundance.

Nan is the baby whisperer.

Dillon and Jack are so gentle with Page.

Silverton Day Two

Monday, January 17th, 2011

Steve called at 8:15.

“We’re at Coalbank Pass. We’ll be in Silverton in fifteen”

I was still in bed, but with the amazing help of Alex, I was able to change, breakfast, pack and get Page ready to get to the trailhead by 8:30.

Steve, Ian and Irene, Murray and Courtney took me on the Anvil circumnavigation tour. It gave us five long runs, with all but the descent into Ophir Bowl giving us nice thick powder when we found the north-facing aspects.

Silverton Day One

Saturday, January 15th, 2011

Alex and Page flew to Durango from San Francisco for the start of our two weeks in the snow. I was waiting for my girls at the airport when they landed after driving via Reno and Salt Lake City with all the gear you need for skiing and babies and skiing with babies.

Cheryl and Kennan invited us to a party on Saturday afternoon at their self-contained cabin on Molas Pass. We had to ski in, so we took advantage and took Page out in the chariot for an hour or two beforehand. I also got a quick lap in above the cabin. I agreed with all the locals that the snow was good (for Colorado).

Page was hot property with all the little girls and their Mums. The girls in the pictures are Roan and Sailor. Page loved interacting with them as much as they loved playing with her.

Page seems to be energized in the mountains. She has never been happier, nor more vocal.

Page and her sling

Page and I often travel through town while she is tucked into her sling. Its my favorite way of traveling with her.
