Trigger Thumb Surgery
July 30th, 2014 by alex
Page was born with a thumb that did not move at the joint. The doctors thought she might out grow it, but it was becoming more and more of an issue for her. She was having trouble drawing and other simple tasks. So we scheduled surgery for her to cut the ligaments and free up her thumb for movement.
She was such a brave girl. No problems at all and now she wears a cast for 5 days while the stitches heal. She can already move her thumb so that brought a big smile to her face this morning!

Hope that drawing finger gets well soon Page. You are a brave girl.

Napa/Tomales Bay Weekend
July 27th, 2014 by alex
Page and I went a solo girls trip up to visit Eli, Courtney and Phoebe up in Napa at their new house. We had a great time wine tasting, fish feeding, swimming at Phoebe’s grandparents house, kayaking, paddle boarding and so much more. We missed Sienna and Dad, but they had important house business to attend to…

Camping!
July 20th, 2014 by alex
We had a wonderful weekend up in Tahoe. We spent the first night at the Naylors and on Saturday we packed up the troops and headed off for Sienna’s first camping trip. We hiked in a mile to a beautiful spot overlooking a an alpine lake. It was Nora’s birthday and Tim made a s’more cake and since no campfires were allowed, it was the perfect gift for everyone. We went on nature walks and found lots of goodies for Page and Nick’s ‘collection’. The kids also got a turtle back ride in the lake out to the island. The water was gorgeous and the perfect temperature. Sienna loved the big ‘bath’. We had a wonderful time!

What Page does when Mama has a dumb idea
July 14th, 2014 by alex
So… I told Brendan I would volunteer the task of staining the 4 new decks. So for the past 5 days we have cleaned, brightened and stained all of the decks. Brendan has kindly been very supportive and helpful and is now finishing the final few hundred feet of staining. Who ever thought 39 would feel so old! I swear I have done 1000 squats.
In the meantime, Page has managed to have so much fun. She is at Nick’s house today hamming it up… Sienna has been taking lots of big naps which has helped us crank out the project. Now we just wait a couple days for the stain to dry and we can start enjoying the space!
She’s walking. Yea.
